This 4 Days Gorilla Safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda. Bwindi, home to nearly half of the total remaining population of the mountain gorillas attracts visitors from around the globe who are interested in gorilla tracking. Located in South Western Uganda, Bwindi offers a privilege of encountering one of world’s rarest animals, the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
After an early morning breakfast, our tour guide will pick you from your hotel or point of departure and embark on a 10 hour drive to the south western part of Uganda. Have a stop over at the Equator. You can have a cup of coffee. Continue with the journey to Bwindi making a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. En-route to Bwindi, you will enjoy sightseeing all the way. Many attractions can be seen through your window including the long curved horned cattle, acacia woodlands, large banana plantations and the rolling green hills of Kabale nick named the “Switzerland of Uganda” etc. Dinner and over night at Bwindi Lodge / Buhoma Lodge
After an early breakfast, the tour guide will transfer you to Bwindi Park headquarters for a briefing from the park destination guide about the gorilla tracking activity. After the briefing, start hiking into the forest on the search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Be prepared to move long distances and don’t forget to bring all the necessary equipment to track the mountain gorillas. Upon meeting the gentle giants in their natural habitat you have a full hour to spend sometime with them. During the watching session you can take photos with no flash on your camera. After the trek, return to the lodge and relax all evening. Optional things to do in the evening include taking a nature walk within the forest or take a local community tour to the Batwa Communities, former forest dwellers. Wake up early for breakfast, after proceed to Bwindi Forest national park a tropical rain forest another trek. Search for the habituated gorillas living in their natural habitat. You need to carry packed lunch and enough water for drinking. If you come back early from the tracking you can take a guided nature walk to River Munyaga which leads to the water falls, tree ferns and some birds. Overnight at Bwindi Lodge / Gorilla resort or Buhoma Community Rest Camp
After breakfast start off with a return trip to Kampala having lunch en-route in Mbarara or Masaka. Drop off at your hotel, airport or preferred destination.
