After breakfast, head out of Kampala to Fort portal via the Mubende Route. Have a stop over enroute for lunch and refreshments. On arrival in Kibale Forest national park take a nature walk in Bigodi swamp, learning about the different flora and fauna in the forest as well as touring the local community projects. The Bigodi Swamp is a birdwatcher’s haven with many birds that include woodpeckers, barbets, tinker-barbets, papyrus Gonolek, swamp fly catcher, horn bills, grey parrot and many more. Early in the morning, report to the park headquarters and get briefed about chimpanzee tracking by a forest guide. Guided by a local ranger guide, hike into the forest looking for the chimps by listening for their pant-hooting calls. On hearing their noises, hustle to the area from which they are calling in order to see them up close. Other primates that can be seen in the park include the Black and White Colobus Monkeys; Black faced Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons and an incredible array of bird life, including the Great Blue Turaco. After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the best safari park for game viewing on Uganda. You will have a game drive while entering the park. Have a game drive as you enter the park. After lunch, take a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. Possible sightings may be different animals that come to drink water at the channel as well as several water birds. Possible sightings at the lake shores include buffaloes, wildebeests, Lions, topis, warthogs, leopards, hyenas, elephants, hippos, crocodiles and Uganda kobs. Amongst the birds you are likely to encounter include African Skimmer, Striated Heron, African Spoonbill, Herring Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Water Thick-knee, Three-banded Plover, Marsh, Green, Wood and Common Sandpiper, Gray-headed Gull, Plain Martin, Lesser Swamp-Warbler and much more. Exit the park after breakfast driving through the Ishasha sector best known for the famed tree climbing lions. Look out for the famous tree climbing lions which are always spotted clinging on old fig trees. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest found in the southern part of the country. Early in the morning after breakfast, get briefed by a ranger guide, enter into the Gorilla Sanctuary for your gorilla tracking adventure. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense, criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken on the hike to the gorillas differs depending on the terrain and movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting adventure. After a morning breakfast, head to Kampala. You will have an enroute lunch and a stopover at the Equator to take some photos or buy souvenirs at any of the crafts shops. You will reach Kampala late evening.
