Our tour guide will pick you from your lodge or from the Kigali Airport for a transfer to Ruhengeri in Rwanda. The journey takes you higher to where you can see the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo. Tonight you will sleep to the sounds of the mountain rainforest. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Kinigi Guest House/ Muhavura lodge (FB) (Full Board).
Early in the morning, report to the park headquarters and get briefed about gorilla tracking in the Volcanoes National Park. The guides will allocate you a gorilla group that you will trek. Enter the gorilla sanctuary of Parc National des Volcans (PNV), the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes. Please note that gorilla trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience that involves trekking for long hours in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. Ensure you bring with you enough water and the packed lunch. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the gorillas in their natural environments. After the trek, you will return back to the lodge. Overnight at the Lodge
After breakfast, leave for Volcanoes National Park for Kisoro or Kabale depending on your gorilla group booked at the time of making your reservation. The journey to Uganda strolls through the beautiful country side characterized with hilly remote sides. Have lunch en route and then arrive in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp/ Buhoma Homestead/ Lake Kitandara Camp/ Buhoma Community Bandas/ Nkuringo safari Lodge
Go gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest or Mgahinga National Park. The trek involves walking up steep densely forested hills before finally coming across the endangered gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. An inspiring moment that will never fade from your memories! Please note that the trek can take from half an hour to 5 hours. Therefore a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Upon meeting the mountain gorillas, sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other. It is an extraordinary experience sitting in the dense rainforest with the gentle giants. After the trek, you can take a nature walk or a local community tour and visit the neighboring local communities that live adjacent to the national park. Overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast, we will depart for Kampala arriving in the late evening.
