This day trip takes you the Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary, one of the few exsitu conservation areas in Africa. The sanctuary was established by the Jane Goodall Institute and it looks after orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. Located deep in Lake Victoria, the place is one of the closest place to Kampala where you can see chimpanzees.
Take a boat ride to Ngamba Island located on Lake Victoria and spend time with the chimps. These amazing cousins to man were rescued from captivity and set free to roam this island, just an hour away from Entebbe by speedboat. You get there in time to see the chimps being fed. You can also swim or go kayaking as long as you avoid the hippos!! This trip is characterized with lots of fun!! While still in Entebbe you may visit Entebbe Zoo where you will see chimps, rhinos and many bird species. Overnight at your lodge Kampala or in Entebbe.
