Though remote, Kidepo National Park is one of the best kept treasures of Uganda hosting incredible wildlife. Explore Kidepo National Park, Uganda’s most isolated national park found some 700km from Kampala along the border of Uganda and Sudan. Located in the north eastern part of Uganda, Kidepo is notably the most magnificent and ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. The park hosts one of the most exciting faunas of any Uganda safari park. This include the greater and lesser kudu, elands and cheetahs not found elsewhere in Africa as well as carnivores that include the lion, leopard, spotted hyena and black-backed and side-striped jackals, large mammals that include elephant, Burchell’s zebra, bushpig, warthog, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, bushbuck, bushduiker, Defassa waterbuck, Bohor reedbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest and oribi etc.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kajjansi – Kidepo National Park
Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park by a charter flight. On arrival, check in at Apoka Safari Lodge. After lunch, go for an evening game drive along the Narus River Valley. Possible wildlife that can be seen include carnivores unique to Kidepo and Karamoja region that include the bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, cheetah and hunting dog. There are high chances of viewing tree climbing lions that always sit on sausage trees along the Narus valley or on rock just as you enter the Kidepo park headquarters. Other wildlife to look out during the game drive include elephants, leopard, bush duiker, jackal, bush buck, bush pig, Kavirondo bush baby, buffalo and much more that are some times seen right from the veranda of Apoka Rest Camp. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Lodge.

Day 2: Tour Kidepo National Park
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive within the park. You can also trek to the Lamoj Mountains just a few kilometers from the park headquarters. Take a visit to the splendid Kidepo River valley dominated by Borassus palm forest! From Kidepo River Valley, visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs, which are located only 11 km from Kidepo River valley. In the afternoon after lunch go for a local village visit to Karimojong peoples of Karenna and Kapedo. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Apoka Lodge.

Day 3: Return to Kampala
Breakfast and morning relaxation. Take a chartered flight back to Entebbe. Airport pickup to Kampala arriving in the evening.
