Day 1: from Kampala to lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, our guide will pick you from the hotel. Head out for Lake Mburo National Park, in Western Uganda. The journey takes you to the West of Uganda passing along Kampala-Masaka highway. Have a stopover at Kayabwe for photography at the equator. Then continue to Kiruhura district, the home to the Lake Mburo National Park. Have a game drive as you enter the park. Check into your lodge and have lunch. Enjoy an evening game drive in the park after lunch. Dinner and overnight at Mburo Eagles Nest (Budget) / Rwakobo Safari Lodge (Midrange) / Mantana Tented Camp (Luxury)
Day 2: Game Drives in Lake Mburo National Park
Early in the monring take a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Possible sightings during the game drive may include: impala, Burchell’s zebra, topi, bush buck, common duiker, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, Bohor reedbuck, buffalo, warthog, bush pig, roan antelope, eland and klipspringer. Have lunch at Rwonyo restaurant. After lunch, go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. On a boat ride, view wildlife as they come to water at the lake. Other possible sightings are hippo, crocodile, Papyrus gonolek, blue headed coucal, southern ground hornbill and mosque swallows. Dinner and overnight at Mburo Eagles Nest (Budget) / Rwakobo Safari Lodge (Midrange) / Mantana Tented Camp (Luxury)
Day 3: Nature Walk to the salt lick
After breakfast take a guided walk to the nearby salt lick. From this platform, you can see at least 4 different species as they lick the salty soil. After lunch exit the park and return to Kampala.
