Bwindi, home to nearly half of the total remaining population of the mountain gorillas attracts visitors from around the globe who are interested in gorilla tracking. Day 1 : Kampala – Bwindi Forest
After an early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you from your hotel. Get briefed about the tour. Embark on a drive to the south western part of Uganda. Have a stop over at the Equator, one of the landmarks you should not miss while in Uganda. You can have a cup of coffee at the Equator. Continue with the journey to Bwindi making a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. En-route to Bwindi, you will enjoy sightseeing all the way. Many attractions can be seen through your window including the long curved horned cattle, acacia woodlands, large banana plantations and the rolling green hills of Kabale nick named the “Switzerland of Uganda” etc. Dinner and over night at Buhoma Rest Community Camp (Budget) Buhoma Haven Lodge (Midrange) / Mahogany Springs (Luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, the tour guide will transfer you to Buhoma, the headquarters of Bwindi for a briefing from the park destination guide about the activity of the day i.e gorilla tracking in the impenetrable jungle. After the briefing, start hiking into the forest in search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Be prepared to move long distances and don’t forget to bring all the necessary equipment you may need to track the mountain gorillas. Upon meeting the gentle giants in their natural habitat you have a full hour to spend sometime with them. During the watching session you can take photos with no flash on your camera. After the trek, return to the lodge and relax all evening. Optional things to do in the evening include taking a nature walk within the forest or take a local community tour to the Batwa Communities, former forest dwellers. Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, after proceed to the Ruhija Sector of Bwindi National Park, a tropical rain forest another gorilla trek. Search for the habituated gorillas living in their natural habitat. You need to carry packed lunch and enough water for drinking. If you come back early from the tracking you can take a guided nature walk to River Munyaga which leads to the water falls, tree ferns and some birds. Day 4: Return Trip to Kampala
After breakfast, embark on a return trip to Kampala having lunch en-route in Mbarara or Masaka. Drop off at your hotel, airport or preferred destination.
