Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Kitgum Town in Northern Uganda. Have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Santuary for rhino tracking.

Day 2: Travel from Kitgum to Kidepo Valley National Park. Game Viewing in Kidepo National Park. Nature Walk

Day 3: Morning Game Drive. Karimojong Cultural Experience

Day 4: Morning Game Drive. Drive to Gulu Town for Overnight.

Day 5: Return to Kampala. Drop off at the hotel or Airport.

Detailed Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kitgum
Leave Kampala after breakfast for Kidepo Valley National Park, located in the far north eastern part of Uganda. The drive takes you past the Luweero Triangle, the historical battle zone. Have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You can go for rhino tracking on foot through the bushy sanctuary. Continue to Gulu crossing the Nile River via the Karuma Bridge. You will reach Kitgum in the evening. Have a night stop in Kitgum town, northern Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Bomah Hotel / Cactus Hotel.

Day 2: Game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park
After a hearty breakfast, continue your drive to Kidepo valley National Park. On arrival, take a game drive in the park. Drive to the south western part of the park (Narus valley). View the Napore Nyangea mountain ranges, Lokayot hills and Morungole range marks. Possible wildlife sightings include lions, zebras, elephants, giraffe, eland, oribi and cheetah. To birders, the park is rewarding with many birds including the hammer kop and ostrich. After lunch have a guided walk in the park. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of beautiful mountains. Dinner and overnight at Kidepo Savanna Lodge (Budget) / Ngamoru Lodge (Midrange) / Apoka lodge (Luxury)

Day 3: Game drive and Cultural Tour
After breakfast, start your adventure with a drive to the seasonal river to catch the early risers on their morning lookout for food. Animals that are commonly seen during the game drive include elephants, giraffes, elands, bush duikers, buffaloes etc. Birds that can be seeninclude Hamerkop, fish eagle, yellow Warbler, Shoe bill and Papyrus Gonolek. Visit the mysterious rock “KidI Rwoti”. Animals that are commonly seen around the rock include lions, zebras elephants, giraffe, Eland, Oribi. After lunch visit the local Karimojong homesteads to learn about the Karamoja way of living. Explore the traditional norms and way of life. You will observe traditional weapons like bow and arrows and spears. You will also see head dresses, jewellery, kraals and so much more. Dinner and overnight at Kidepo Savanna Lodge (Budget) / Ngamoru Lodge (Midrange) / Apoka lodge (Luxury)

Day 4: Game Drive and Transfer to Gulu
Enjoy all your morning with game drives through the Kidepo Valley National Park. After lunch, transfer to Gulu Town. Dinner and overnight at Gulu Churchill Courts (Budget) / Bomah Hotel

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala
After breakfast you will set off for Kampala with a lunch stop over enroute. You will reach Kampala in the late evening.

This tour ends in Kampala at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at any of your preferred hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please contact us for free airport transfer to Entebbe Airport.
