This is a unique offering combining Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most scenic and diverse park ranked only after Murchison Falls National Park in terms of size. Queen Elizabeth National Park, named after the Queen of England, is a world biosphere reserve with a RAMSAR wetland site covering an area of 1,978 square kilometers. Kibaale Forest National Park also holds its own in beautiful Uganda as it holds the record for the highest concentration of primate species – thirteen in number covering an area of 795 square kilometers. It is because of that statistic that Kibale Forest National Park is known as the primate capital of the world.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Our driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive westwards towards Mbarara via Masaka. Make the first stop over at the Equator Crossing for refreshment, a cup of coffee and photography. As you get near Mbarara, you will have a second stop-over at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and view the rich history of the Banyankole captured in the in-house museum. After lunch, you will continue on to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way, your eyes will feast to beautiful scenery including the Rwenzoris in the distance and marvel at the savannah grassland and short shrub trees that dot the valley that is Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, you will go on a rewarding game drive in the evening where you will see lions and other carnivorous animals hunt after the sun has reduced in its intensity. Day 2: Game drive and Launch cruise on Kazinga channel
You will begin your day with a cup of coffee or tea after which you will head out on a game drive along the Queens Mile and Kasenyi tracks. During the game drive, you will view buffalo,, water bucks, lions, elephants and a variety of birds. You will then return to the lodge for breakfast, a bit of relaxation and then lunch.
After lunch, you will enjoy a two hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel where you will see and photograph amphibious animals as well as those that come to the channel’s banks for a drink. This safari also gives vacationers an opportunity to see a wide array of bird-life so carry a pair of binoculars if you can.

Day 3: Visit to the Katwe salt pads and transfer to Kibale Forest National park
Today, you will visit the Katwe salt pads where salt has been mined dating back to the days of slave trade. Our guide will tell you all about it and you will be able to meet men and women who still mine salt from the pads. The tour will give you an insight into the fascinating yet tough process of salt mining. You will then drive to Fort Portal town where you will en-route visit the crater lakes region at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. You will continue your journey to Kibale Forest National park for Dinner and Over Night.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and transfer to Kampala
After an early breakfast, you will follow a park guide to trek the chimpanzees; the animals often referred to as our closest cousins. This walk – lasting over four hours will bring you in close proximity with chimpanzees and ten other primate species including red Colobus monkeys, the blues, red tailed and grey cheeked mangabey, phoestes and many more. Your guide will provide a detailed explanation of everything you see and ensure that your walk is enjoyable and informative at the same time. The walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. At about mid-day, you will head back to your accommodation for lunch and depart for Kampala – arriving at about 6.00pm.
