Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi
Our guide will pick you in the morning from the hotel. Travel to the south-western part of Uganda. You will have stop at the equator for photographs, and in Mbarara for lunch. The journey will take you through large banana plantations, papyrus woodland, and terraced landscapes of the “Switzerland of Africa”. It takes about 9 hours to reach Bwindi in the late afternoon. Day 2 : Tracking Gorillas
Following breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these great apes. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them. They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight at Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 3: Kampala – Fortportal
After breakfast, travel to Kibale Forest National Park. Have lunch in Fortportal and visit take a visit to the Crater Lakes Region or the Amabeere Ga Nyinamwiru cultural site. Later connect to Kibale Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Safari Lodge (Budget) / Chimpanzee Guest House (Midrange) / Kibale Primates Lodge or Papaya Lake Lodge (Luxury)

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
After breakfast, report to the park headquarters and get briefed about chimpanzee tracking. Embark on a morning walk through Kibale forest in search of chimps and other primates. During the trek, you will be guided by experienced and knowledgeable tour guides who will give you a lot of insight into the lives of primates, as well as flora and fauna found within the forest. After lunch, take an initiative walk to Bigodi wetland for birds and other primates living around this swampy area. (You can opt for a full day chimpanzee habituation experience within the forest). Dinner and Overnight at Kibale Safari Lodge (Budget) / Chimpanzee Guest House (Midrange) / Kibale Primates Lodge or Papaya Lake Lodge (Luxury)

Day 5: Return Trip to Kampala
After breakfast travel back to Kampala. Embark on your return trip to Kampala arriving in the late evening.
