Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up from the Hotel or Entebbe International Airport. Take a Full Day Kampala City Tour. Day 1: Kampala City Tour
After breakfast, Our guide will pick you up from the hotel. Go for a Kampala city tour. You will visit different cultural and historical sites. These include the Kings Palace, Kasubi Royal Tombs, National Theatre Crafts Centre. In the afternoon, travel to the nearby Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, a place where the Ugandan Matryrs were burnt to ashes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Tour Murchison Falls National Park
The guide will pick you up in the morning and embark on a journey to the Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through panoramic views as you travel North -West. Have astopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place where you can see rhinos in Uganda. Go for rhino tracking within this sanctuary, a breeding place for white rhinos that became extinct from uganda in the 1970s. After the walk, have lunch. Travel through Masindi town to Murchison Falls National Park. Drive to the Top of the Falls, a vintage point where you will view the spectacular River Nile and its beautiful environs. Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park Tour
Go for an Early morning game drive at 0630hrs. Go for a game drive through the northern part of the Murchison Falls National Park, Expect to see wild animals like giraffe, buffaloes, hartebeests, African elephants and many others. Try out your luck and look out for some cats that include lions, leopards etc. There are lots of birds that include black crested snake eagle, bee-eater, shoebill. Drive across borasus palm forest and savanna down to Lake Albert where Albert Nile leads North to Sudan. Lunch and proceed for boat ride to the bottom of Murchison Falls, spectacular experience with numerous animals like Nile crocodiles and hippos. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Murchison Falls NP – Kibale Forest
After breakfast, drive to Fort Portal (6hrs drive). The journey takes you the Albertine Rift, a region known of great scenery and lots of attractions. Travel through Masindi, Hoima, Kagadi, Kibale and Kyenjojo. You will have lunch en-route. There are lots of interesting places to see that include homesteads, the activities and lifestyle of people. If you love agritourism, there are sugarcane, tea, banana, coffee and cocoa plantations. You will arrive in Fort Portal late in the evening for dinner and overnight. Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
After breakfast, transfer to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre of Kibale National park. Get briefed about chimpanzee tracking within the forest. Hike into the forest on the search for the wild chimpanzees that inhabit the forest. Kibale Forest is known to host the highest density of chimpanzees in the world, and the chance to see them in the wild is about 95%. Walk through the chimpanzee colony and enjoy their company for one hour. Return to the lodge for Lunch. In the afternoon take a nature walk to the Bigodi wetland, a fascinating area, located in Magombe swamp. Return to the lodge in the evening. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Fort Portal – Kasese Road. Proceed to the lodge for check in. In the afternoon, proceed for a unique boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. The trip takes you through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa. Enjoy spectacular game viewing and photography of birds, as well as animals along the shores of the lake. These include hippos, elephants and other wild animals that come to the lake to drink water at the edge of the channel. Day 7: Game Drives & Nature Walk in QENP
Early wake up. Go for game viewing at 0645hrs. Enjoy a safari through the magnificent ecosystem of grassy plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is characterized by different ecosystems that include tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters. There is a lot of incredible wildlife that include the tree climbing lions, leopards, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, topi etc. After lunch, drive to Maramagambo Forest. Take a nature walk within the forest. Visit the bat colony, a cave colonized by bats and pythons. Day 9: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
After early breakfast transfer to the park outpost. You will get briefed on gorilla trekking from a ranger guide. Enter the Gorilla Sanctuary for exclusive gorilla trekking adventure in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The hike takes you through the dramatic steeply forested landscape of Bwindi. Upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you have up to one hour to watch these great apes. Make use of the hour by learning about the gorillas and taking their photographs. Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Lake Bunyonyi, a popular place for relaxation in Uganda. Take a boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi in a traditional canoe. Visit one of the islands that are located within Africa’s deepest lake. You can take a community tour and get authentic cultural interactions with the local people living in the islands.
